Rondreis Marokko: 10 dagen — keizersteden, woestijn en kust

A 10-day Morocco itinerary is the right length for the full loop: the imperial cities, the desert of Merzouga and the Atlantic coast. Ten days from Casablanca gives you time in every place, without rushing the drives.

Days 1–3: the imperial cities

Casablanca, Rabat, Chefchaouen and Fes: four cities in three days, with the blue streets of Chefchaouen and the old medina of Fes. The drive from Fes to the desert starts on day four.

Days 4–5: the desert of Merzouga

Fes to Merzouga takes 7–8 hours through the Ziz Valley. Two nights in the desert gives you a full day among the dunes of Erg Chebbi — camel ride, sandboarding and a night in the camp.

Days 6–7: the valleys and Marrakech

Todra Gorge, the Dades Valley and Ait Ben Haddou on the way back west, then over the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260 m) to Marrakech. A full day in Marrakech for the medina and the souks.

Days 8–10: the coast — Essaouira and Agadir

From Marrakech the road turns west to the Atlantic: Essaouira, the old port town with its harbour and beach, and Agadir further south. Three days on the coast ends a 10-day Morocco itinerary the slow way.
