A 14-day Morocco itinerary is the grand tour: every imperial city, the desert of Merzouga, Marrakech and the Atlantic coast — with time to stop, walk and rest in each place. Two weeks is the slowest, fullest way to see the country.
Casablanca, Rabat, Chefchaouen, Volubilis and Meknes, then Fes. Four days in the north, with two nights in Fes for the medina and the tanneries.
From Fes the road runs south through the Ziz Valley to Merzouga — 7–8 hours of driving. Two nights among the dunes of Erg Chebbi: camel ride at sunset, sandboarding and a night in the desert camp.
Todra Gorge, the Dades Valley, Ait Ben Haddou and the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260 m) on the way to Marrakech. Two full days in Marrakech: the medina, the souks, the gardens and Jemaa el-Fna.
The last days are for the Atlantic: Essaouira with its old harbour, Agadir with its long beach, and the lagoon of Oualidia. The 14-day grand tour ends on the coast, not in a rush back to the airport.
