What do I need to pack for visiting the Sahara Desert?

Day 1 : Marrakech – High Atlas mountains – Telouat Kasbah – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Ouarzazate
The 6-day Morocco desert tour from Marrakech, begins with an early pick-up from the airport or your hotel in Marrakech. Then, drive across the magnificent High Atlas Mountains and the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass. We will make stops for panoramic views of the stunning scenery. Then we visit Telouat’s Kasbah.
Following that, we will visit the well-known Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. A fortified settlement designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Kasbah has appeared in various movies, such as Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy. In addition, there are television shows such as Game of Thrones. Then we travel to Ouarzazate, well known as “The Gate of the Desert”. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel
Day 2 : Ouarzazate – Skoura (Kasbah Amridil) – Rose valley – Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud -Merzouga Sahara – overnight in a luxury camp
After breakfast, we will visit the Atlas Studio. Filmmakers have shot notable films there. We will also visit the Taourirt Kasbah in Ourzazate. Then, drive southeast to Amridil Kasbah in Skoura, where palm groves border the area. Then continue to Rose Valley. Every year in May, the residents hold a Rose Festival. They sell their rose products there. These range from perfumes, rose water, oil, and cosmetics. Then we travel through the Dades Valley. We stop at a viewpoint to see the breathtaking Dades Gorges. We then go to Todra Gorges. The Todra River has cut a spectacular canyon through the mountains. This has created a steep red cliff-side gorge. Free time for lunch. Feel free to roam through the gorges and enjoy the scenery.
At the afternoon, we arrive at the Sahara desert of Merzouga. You switch to camels to cross the sandy desert. You will have a pause to admire the spectacular sunset from the top of a high dune. Then, go to the desert luxury camp. There, you may listen to Berber drum music. You can dance around the campfire under the huge open sky of stars. Dinner and stay at the camp.
Day 3 : Explore Merzouga region – Nomads – Khamlia – Merzouga lake – Erg Chebbi – palm grove
Wake up early in the morning to enjoy the lovely sunrise in the middle of the desert. Free time for breakfast. Then you ride camels back to Merzouga, where the driver awaits. We dedicate the day to exploring the Merzouga region. The area has many magnificent sights. They include sand dunes, wild lakes, mines, fossil locations, and fabulous oases. Which are perfect locations for a variety of outdoor activities.
First, we begin our excursion in Merzouga by driving off-road to an ancient eyeliner mine. Then we pay the nomads a visit in their hand-woven tent. Drink Berber tea and learn about their way of life. Our next stop is Khamlia village, where you may enjoy Gnaoua music and dance performances. Its residents are from sub-Saharan African nations such as Mali, Sudan, and Niger. Free time for lunch at a restaurant. Following that, we take a stroll through a palm tree grove. Then drive a few kilometers to visit the wild lake of Merzouga, commonly known as Flamingo Lake. Dinner and overnight At a hotel.
Day 4 : Merzouga Dunes – Erfoud – Midelt – cedars forest – Ifrane – Fes
After breakfast, we leave the desert to reach Rissani, Tafilalet’s old capital. Rissani remains a key trading center in the region. It has a thriving souk on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. After a tour around Rissani souk, we go to Erfoud. There, we visit a fossilized marble workshop.
Following that, we travel down the Ziz River, stopping for a panoramic vista of the Ziz Valley. In Midelt, you have free time for lunch. Then we head to the cedar forest, where the Barbary Macaques live. Feel free to feed them while strolling through the forest. After that, we visit Ifrane. It’s known for its low temperatures, snow, and alpine-style homes. It’s no surprise that it’s known as Morocco’s Switzerland. Finally, we drop you off at your accommodation in Fes.
Day 5 : Guided tour sightseeing Fes
We will pick you up from your Fes lodging after breakfast to explore the city. The city is Morocco’s cultural and religious center. It is also one of its imperial cities.
We begin the day by visiting the Royal Palace Gate. Then there’s the well-preserved medieval Medina. UNESCO designated the World Heritage site. The Blue Gate, also known as Bab Boujloud, marks the entrance to the old Medina. You will enter the Medina with a local guide. To visit the Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine Fountain, and the Tanneries. And finally, the Quaraouin Mosque and University, the world’s oldest university. Following that, we leave the Medina to explore the Jewish district known as “the Mellah”. Then we drive to an ancient fortress, for panoramic views of the Medina and the city of Fes. Then return to your riad.
Day 6 : Transfer to the airport
