Day 1: Ouarzazate to Merzouga Sahara

Your tour begins with a morning departure from Ouarzazate. Your first stop is Skoura, a beautiful oasis town known for its palm groves and historic kasbahs. Here, you will visit the stunning Kasbah Amridil, a fortified mud-brick structure that has been inhabited by the same family for over 300 years. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about the history and architecture of the kasbah, as well as the traditional Berber way of life.

Next, you’ll continue on to the Rose Valley, a fertile region known for its fragrant roses and stunning landscapes. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the valley and learn about the local industries of rose water and perfume production.

After the Rose Valley, you’ll head to the Dades Valley, famous for its dramatic rock formations and stunning scenery. You’ll drive through the valley, making stops along the way to take photos and soak in the natural beauty of the area.

From there, you’ll continue on to the Todra Gorges, a series of stunning canyons carved out of the High Atlas Mountains by the Todra River. You’ll have the opportunity to hike through the gorges, taking in the dramatic rock formations and stunning views.

After the Todra Gorges, you’ll head to Erfoud, a town known for its fossil industry and stunning desert landscapes. From there, you’ll continue on to Merzouga, located on the edge of the Sahara Desert. Here, you’ll stay overnight in a luxury camp, enjoying traditional Moroccan hospitality and a stunning desert sunset.

Day 2: Merzouga Region Exploration

 

On day two, you’ll wake up early to watch the sunrise over the Sahara Desert. After breakfast, you’ll set out to explore the Merzouga region.

Your first stop will be to visit a local nomadic family. You’ll have the opportunity to learn about their way of life, as well as their customs and traditions. From there, you’ll visit Khamlia, a village known for its Gnawa music. You’ll have the opportunity to listen to traditional music and learn about the history and culture of the Gnawa people.

Next, you’ll visit Merzouga Lake, a seasonal lake that provides an important habitat for migratory birds. You’ll have the opportunity to see a variety of bird species and enjoy the stunning desert landscapes.

After Merzouga Lake, you’ll head to Erg Chebbi, a massive sea of sand dunes that stretches over 30 kilometers. You’ll have the opportunity to climb the dunes and take in the stunning views.

Your final stop of the day will be the palm grove, an oasis in the heart of the desert. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings before heading back to your luxury camp for dinner and an evening under the stars.

Day 3: Merzouga Dunes to Fes

 

On your final day, you’ll wake up early for a sunrise camel trek through the Merzouga dunes. You’ll have the opportunity to experience the beauty of the desert from a different perspective and take in the stunning colors of the sunrise.

After your camel trek, you’ll head back to the camp for breakfast before starting your journey to Fes. You’ll drive through the town of Erfoud, famous for its fossil industry, before continuing on to Midelt, a town located in the Middle Atlas Mountains.

From Midelt, you’ll head to the cedars forest, home to the endangered Barbary macaque. You’ll have the opportunity to see these rare primates in their natural habitat and enjoy a peaceful walk through the forest.

Your final stop before continue
reaching Fes will be Ifrane, a picturesque town known for its European-style architecture and beautiful gardens. You’ll have the opportunity to stroll through the town and take in the charming atmosphere before continuing on to Fes.

Upon arrival in Fes, your tour will come to an end. You’ll be dropped off at your accommodation or the airport, depending on your travel plans.
