Itinerary for the 3-Day Tour from Marrakech to Merzouga

Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Dades Gorges

The Marrakech 3-day desert tour to Merzouga begins with an early pickup from your Marrakech hotel or the airport. Afterward, we drive across the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, where you’ll witness the magnificent High Atlas Mountains with breaks to take in the panoramic views of the beautiful landscape.

We then proceed to the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified town registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Kasbah has also been featured in numerous films such as Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy, as well as TV shows like Game of Thrones. Next, we travel to Ouarzazate, known as “The Gate of the Desert.” After enjoying lunch on your own, we continue the tour through Rose Valley, passing by the enormous Skoura palm grove. Ultimately, we travel to Boumalne Dades, where we spend the night.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga Desert

On the second day of your 3-day desert tour from Marrakech to Merzouga, we drive through the Dades Valley, stopping to take in the stunning views of the Dades Gorges. Next, we visit the Todra Gorges, where the Todra River has carved a massive canyon through the mountains, creating steep red cliffs. Day 3: Merzouga – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Rise early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes. Afterward, enjoy a hearty Moroccan breakfast before taking a camel ride back to Merzouga, where your driver will be waiting. Next, we proceed to Rissani, a town famous for its vibrant ethnic souk.

We then continue the journey to Alnif and drive along the scenic Draa Valley to Ouarzazate. Finally, we cross the Tizi-n-Tichka pass on our way back to Marrakech, where the 3-day desert tour concludes with a drop-off at your lodging.
