On the first day, we will pick you up early from the airport, the port, or your Casablanca lodging. Casablanca is considered Morocco's economic center and largest city. First, we will visit Morocco's greatest mosque, the Hassan II Mosque. It is located on the city's west shore, on a peninsula that overlooks the Atlantic. Free time for lunch. Then we explore the city and go to the magnificent Cornish of Casablanca. Stay overnight in a hotel.
Following breakfast, we drive down the coast to Rabat. The city is one of Morocco's imperial cities and currently serves as the capital. It is located in the northwest of Morocco. You will explore the city's highlights, such as the Hassan Tower and Mohammed V's Mausoleum. In addition, there is the Oudaya Kasbah. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, we go north through Ouazzane to the Blue City of Chefchaouen. The city, located in the Rif Mountains, is noted for its blue-painted buildings and lanes. Finally, stay overnight in a hotel.
After breakfast, feel free to explore the magnificent lanes of the blue city Chefchaouen. Then we go to the old Roman ruins of Volubilis. It is well protected because UNESCO designated it a World Heritage Site. There are several exquisite mosaics strewn throughout, as well as old pillars and archways. After meandering among the ruins, we drive 30 kilometers to Meknes. The city is recognized as the Ismaili capital and one of the imperial cities. In which we explore Bab Al-Mansour, the Sahrij Souani basin, the Royal Stables, and the Granary. There's also the Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Then we travel to Fes. Overnight stay at a Riad.
We spend the day exploring the highlights of Fes city with a local guide. In addition to being Morocco's cultural and religious center, the city is regarded as one of its imperial cities.
We begin the day by visiting the Royal Palace Gate. Then there's the well-preserved medieval Medina, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will visit the Blue Gate, also known as Bab Boujloud, which is the entrance to the old Medina. This appears to be a labyrinth of alleyways and streets. You'll enter the Medina to see the Medrasa Bouanania, the Najjarine Fountain, and the Tanneries. Finally, there is the Quaraouin Mosque and University, the world's oldest university. Following that, we leave the Medina to explore the Jewish district, commonly known as "the Mellah". Then we drive to an antique fortress with a panoramic view of the Medina and Fes. Finally, return to your riad.
After breakfast, we drive south through Imouzzer to reach Ifrane. The city is well-known for its cold temperatures, snow, and alpine-style architecture houses. It's no surprise that it's known as Morocco's Switzerland. Following that, we head to the cedar forest, where the Barbary macaques live. Feel free to feed them while strolling through the forest. Later, we will continue to Midelt, where we will have some free time for lunch. Then we drive to Merzouga via the Tizi-n-Tilghmt Pass and the Ziz Valley. Includes stops for panoramic vistas.
In the afternoon, we arrive in the Sahara desert at Merzouga, where we switch to camels and cross the sandy desert. You will halt on top of a high dune to watch the sunset. Finally, you proceed to the camp. This is a hybrid of traditional nomad tents and hotel-style elegance. Where you can enjoy Berber drum music while dancing around a campfire under a big open sky of stars. Dinner and stay at the campsite.
Wake up early in the morning to enjoy the lovely sunrise in the middle of the desert. Free time for breakfast. Then you ride camels back to Merzouga, where the driver awaits. Then we leave the desert to explore Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. Rissani remains an important trading center in the region, with a big souk that is active three days each week.
After a tour around the Rissani souk, we continue to Erfoud to visit one of the fossilized marble workshops. We next drive via Touroug and Tinjdad palm fields to reach the Todra Gorges. The course of the Todra River has cut a spectacular canyon through the mountains. Creating a high red cliff-sided canyon. These gorges are perfect for rock climbing. Feel free to roam through the gorges and enjoy the scenery. Free time for lunch at a restaurant. Then we continue to the Dades valley, passing through Boumalne Dades. Following that, there are unavoidable stops at the "monkey fingers" rock formation and a vantage point overlooking the Dades Valley. Finally, food and a night in a hotel.
On the final day, we continue our journey to Kalaa Magouna to explore the Rose Valley. The Rose Festival takes place in May. Where locals sell their rose goods. From scents, rose water, and oil to cosmetics. We next drive through Skoura's palm groves to reach Ouarzazate. Next, we go to the studios where great films were shot.
Then we leave to visit the famed Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. A fortified settlement designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The Kasbah has appeared in various movies, such as Gladiator, Alexander, and The Mummy. In addition, there are television shows such as Game of Thrones. Then we drive to Marrakech, passing via the Tizi-N-Tichka Pass and the High Atlas Mountains. Stops will be made for lunch and to take photographs at noteworthy locations. Finally, we arrive in Marrakech and transport you to the airport or your lodging. The end of the seven-day Morocco tour.
