The visible remnants include acres of walls, enormous column fragments, the capitol, the basilica, and a triumphal arch. The people gave it the name "Ksar Faraoun," which translates to "the Pharaoh's Castle." They started to believe that ancient Egyptians built it.

Meknes, an imperial metropolis, has existed since the Alawite dynasty's control over Morocco began. This is the second destination on your tour. You may see the exquisite Moulay Ismail Mausoleum, the Bab el-Mansour doorway, and the Sahrij Souani Basin.
