7 days Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech - Transfer to your Riad/ Hotel:

Our driver will pick you up from the airport. They will let you rest for the day by independently exploring the souks, Jemaa el Fnaa and the main square.

Day 2: Full day in Marrakech with a local guide:

A local expert will give you a tour of Marrakech's Medina. Today begins a seven-day tour departing from Marrakech. The famous Koutoubia Mosque, the Medina, its souks and winding alleys are all included in the tour. Discover the sights and mysteries of Marrakech. These include the Bahia Palace and the Saadian. The Ali Ben Youssef Koranic School is one of them. The magnificent Majorelle Gardens are one of them. Return to the Medina and your usual Riad.

Day 3: Marrakech - Atlas Mountains - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate:

At about 8:30 a.m., our seven-day tour leaves Marrakech for the Dades Gorge. We will cross the well-known Tizi N'Tichka pass. The pass offers breathtaking views of Berber towns, the High Atlas and the mountains. Afterwards, we will visit the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You will have lunch at a restaurant in the neighborhood. Next, we will go to Ouarzazate, often known as “The Gateway to the Desert.” The Atlas Studios and the Kasbah Taourirt are located here. Many foreign filmmakers have been drawn here because of its location and adjacent castles, so much so that it has been called the “Hollywood of Africa.” Afterwards, you will cross the Roses and Dades valleys to reach the Dades Gorges. A traditional Moroccan lunch will be served during the excursion. You will stay overnight in a riad or hotel in the Dades Gorges.

Day 4: Dades Valley - Todra Gorges - Merzouga (Dunes of Erg Chebbi):

Return to the valley after enjoying a delicious breakfast. You will be able to explore the beautiful rock known as “the monkeys' fingers.” You will also witness the Kasbah of Ait Yul, dating back to the 19th century. Next, we will head to Tinghir and the Todra Gorges, leaving the Dades Valley behind. You will be able to observe the enchanting landscapes there. They depict ancient Berber clay settlements overlooking the gorges. Once you reach the Todra Gorges, you will walk along the red cliff that stands 300 meters high. It is very popular with climbers. We will eat in Erfoud.

Afterwards, we will head to the dunes of Erg Chebbi, which are located near Merzouga. A camel guide will be waiting for us when we arrive, after a cup of mint tea. We will begin the camel ride to explore the breathtaking, curling dunes of Erg Chebbi. You will take a break to relax, admire the sunset and try your hand at sandboarding. Afterwards, you will stay in a desert camp before spending the night under the stars in a fully furnished camp. You will enjoy a delicious meal and a feast with music by the campfire.

Day 5: Merzouga - Berber Families - Black Desert - Merzouga : :

Our 7-day desert tour from Marrakech is still in progress. After breakfast and a shower at the desert camp, you will return by camel to your starting point. There you will meet your driver to begin your exploration of the Merzouga region. The itinerary includes a visit to the seasonal lake of Merzouga. This is home to groups of migratory birds, including flamingos.

The village is not far away. Most of its inhabitants are from sub-Saharan countries and have dark skin. They wish to experience the music and lifestyle of the Gnawa people. We will stop at Mifis, a small abandoned settlement with lead and other mineral mines, on the way to a nomadic family. Dinner will be provided by the hotel where you will stay overnight. Breakfast, overnight stay and dinner.

Day 6: Merzouga - Er rissani - Alnif - Agdz - Ouarzazate

We leave the desert of Merzouga after a hearty breakfast and a shower at the hotel. We choose a different road and begin our journey to Ouarzazate. The road passes through the Berber settlements of the Atlas Plateau. The Draa Valley, Agdz and Alnif are some of these villages. Until evening, when we arrive in Ouarzazate. Overnight in a nearby riad and dinner.

Day 7: Ouarzazate - High Atlas - Marrakech:

This morning we leave Ouarzazate. Our final destination is Marrakech, where we will travel. We will travel to the studios. The Tizi N Tichka, the highest road pass in Morocco, will be our route through the High Atlas Mountains. The pass offers breathtaking views of Berber settlements, mountains and surrounding valleys. By the time we reach Marrakech it will be dusk. At the conclusion of our 7-day desert journey departing from Marrakech.
