VISIT MAGHREB / Tours / 7-Day Anniversary Trip: Marrakech, Merzouga & Casablanca
Quick answer
Seven days for couples marking an anniversary: from Marrakech to a luxury camp in Erg Chebbi, then through the Dades Valley to Fes and via Rabat to Casablanca. Private, just the two of you, with time for the places on the way. 7 days · 6 nights · from € 1.199 per person · Private tour.
This 7-day Marrakech to Casablanca desert tour is a private Morocco desert tour from Marrakech to Casablanca. The route runs from Marrakech through Aït Ben Haddou, Dades Valley, Todra Gorge, Merzouga / Erg Chebbi to Casablanca. You travel in a private air-conditioned vehicle with your own driver, only with your own group, you set the pace, and you stay in hand-picked riads and hotels along the way.
This is a private tour for two: a camel ride in Erg Chebbi at sunset, dinner in the desert camp and a night under the stars. Everything is arranged around you — the driver, the camp, the pace — so the trip feels like yours, not a group schedule. It is the classic Morocco honeymoon tour: desert, mountains and old cities in one trip.
The best time to visit Merzouga is March to May and September to November, when the days are warm and the crowds are thinner. The tour runs all year. The price for this tour is confirmed on enquiry — send us your dates and group size and we send you a quote.
1 / 5Jemaa el-Fna in Marrakech
The Red City — Jemaa el-Fna square, the Koutoubia mosque and the souks of the medina.
The clay ksar on the old caravan road, a UNESCO site made famous by films — walk the alleys and climb to the top.
A valley of rose gardens and red rock, where the road winds between the cliffs and the kasbahs.
Walk between 300-metre rock walls in the narrowest part of the gorge — the most dramatic canyon in Morocco.
Ride camels into the dunes at sunset and sleep in a desert camp under the stars — the high sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, up to 150 m.
The Ziz Valley — a green line of palm groves cutting through the desert on the road to Merzouga.
Leave Marrakech, over the High Atlas to Ait Ben Haddou and into the Dades Valley. Overnight in a hotel or riad.
To Todra Gorge, then to Merzouga. Camel ride at sunset, night in the luxury camp in Erg Chebbi.
A day in Merzouga: dunes, the village of Khamlia, sandboarding. Second night in the luxury camp.
Sunrise in the dunes, drive through the Ziz Valley to Fes. Overnight in a riad in the medina.
Guided day in the medina of Fes: tanneries, the Medersa and the craft quarters. Overnight in Fes.
Drive via Rabat to Casablanca. Overnight in Casablanca.
Free morning in Casablanca, for example the Hassan II Mosque from outside and the Corniche. Transfer as planned.
The from-price is per person for the tour as described. The exact price depends on your travel dates, group size and hotels — it falls as the group grows. Your quote after the enquiry is the price that counts.

March to May and September to November are the best months: warm days, cool desert nights and clear skies. The tour runs all year. In summer (June to August) the desert is very hot, over 45°C, so the camel ride and the camp stay are planned for the cooler hours.
7 days is the right length for this route: it covers Marrakech to Casablanca at a relaxed pace, with the desert night in Erg Chebbi and time at each stop. If you have more time, ask us to add a day.

“An amazing desert ride — the sunset and sunrise will stay with you forever, and the staff is always there for you. There is a lot of road to cover by car, but the camel ride repays your patience. We stopped in lovely places with good food along the way. Strongly recommended.”

“The Sahara is a magical place, and I couldn't have asked for better hosts. I arrived late and missed my sunset camel ride, but Hassan arranged a morning ride instead — and the dawn was well worth the early alarm. I loved a day in the desert with Ibrahim: the landscape, the desert plants and animals, the people and history, and Gnaoua music. Ibrahim is also a fantastic cook — he made us a fresh picnic lunch in the shade of a great tamarisk tree. Back at camp in time for a magnificent sunset, a delicious meal and music around the campfire, then glittering stars. Hassan's communication was excellent throughout. A small family business, and it shows in the care they bring to every moment.”
